Best Thriller Movies to watch on Netflix India
Awake
A catastrophe fries all electronics on Earth and eliminates humanity’s ability to sleep. As scientists race to find a cure for this fatal insomnia, Jill discovers that her young daughter may be the key to salvation. Will she protect her child or choose to save the world? Jill’s experience as a soldier is explored, as is the human urge to use violence in times of crisis and the struggle to keep some semblance of hope. All of it is there if you give this story enough time. This film demonstrates how to remain sane and survive during chaos and violence by sticking together.
Prime Time
There’s nothing like an edgy hostage drama to keep me hooked! The show succeeds in this regard, focusing more on hints and subtleties than blatant in-your-face storytelling. Brilliant performances and a mind-boggling plot make this movie a worthwhile watch. The story doesn’t judge the protagonist’s motives, either. Instead, it portrays themes of visibility and control through an exploratory lens. Even though it raises some poignant questions, the drama itself could have been better.
The Woman in the Window
Watching The Woman in the Window on Netflix should be at the top of your list of psychological thrillers on Netflix. Child psychologist Anna Fox suffers from agoraphobia and gets drawn into a criminal case by accident. The protagonist depicts her instability throughout the story with panicked trembles and manic cackles, yet with a pearl of veiled wisdom beneath. An intriguing plot, surprising revelations, and nothing you expect are found in this film adaptation of A. J. Finn’s bestselling novel and adapted for the screen by Tracy Letts.
Ferry
There is something really compelling about Dutch crime dramas in a way violent gangster movies rarely are, as this one is. From the popular Belgian-Dutch crime series Undercover, Ferry Bouman’s origin story is told. From a tough traumatic childhood in a trailer park to falling for pretty Danielle, the woman who makes him wonder if there’s more to life than he’s been living, we follow this journey. Although Ferry is riddled with gangster cliches, there are just enough twists to keep you engaged. Although it isn’t a great thriller, this nonetheless stands out among other good Netflix movies.
I’m Thinking of Ending Things
This flick from the same director will especially appeal to fans of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Based on Iain Reid’s acclaimed novel of the same name, the film tells the story of a woman who visits her boyfriend’s parents on a secluded farm. This psychological horror film moves from reality to a dreamlike commentary on human connection, unfolding over a snowy day. As the narrative progresses, the lead character assumes new identities and takes on new names. It is difficult to follow the film’s labyrinthine surrealism, but therein lies the film’s meaning. Once the end credits roll, the story – or whatever it is you make of the story – will linger in your mind.
A Fall From Grace
In the beginning, A Fall from Grace is a feel-good movie. Grace’s best friend Sarah notices Grace’s loneliness after the divorce and encourages her to start dating again. A few months later, Grace is married to the man of her dreams. It turns out the knight in shining armor is a pathetic man who turns her world upside down within a few weeks. This watch is perfect for a family brunch. Dramatic, socially conscious, and gripping, the film keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through. So, the next time you find yourself thinking, what’s a good thriller to watch right now, A Fall From Grace could be just what you need. Blood Red Sky
There will be plenty of blood, surprises, and outrageously creepy moments in this film. Blood Red Sky is an action-horror film about a plane hijacking. It is one of the best thrillers I have seen recently since it takes place at a high altitude (pun intended). The plot defies expectations from the beginning and combines the supernatural with the relatable premise of familial bonds. While it lacks the deeper psychological proddings that I enjoy in thrillers, it is filled with the kind of chaos that makes such films so entertaining.
Deadly Illusions
Spice it up with revenge and seduction to get your thriller movie to the top of the chartbusters. When the leading lady of Sex and the City is the center of our sexual fantasies, the temperature increases. The cast has done justice to their roles, but the story contains many holes and is a predetermined and mainstream plot. This film is a must-see for all Kristin Davis fans, for she has done an excellent job as a thriller writer, which helps her break the charming, delicate stereotype. It doesn’t feel forced or vulgar, and it’s not over the top. It is indeed one of Netflix’s blockbuster thriller movies. ALSO READ: Best Action Anime on Netflix India
Gerald’s Game
It is one of the best psychological thrillers available on Netflix. During a romantic holiday on Gerald’s Game, a couple’s relationship goes downhill quickly after they try to rekindle it. Gerald’s Game was regarded as Stephen King’s best adaptation that year, as it was a very risky adaptation of his novel. In the same year, the infamous interpretation ‘it’ was released. Stephan King’s novels are renowned for their absurd endings, and Gerald’s Game is no exception. However, it is the direction that makes it a genius redemption.
Extraction
A black market mercenary with nothing to lose sets out to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned crime god. Tyler Rake is our own Thor, the superhero mercenary. With 116 minutes of running time, there’s just the right amount of action. Its character-driven plot secures this film’s spot on Netflix’s list of best thrillers. There is a lot more to this movie than meets the eye. A charm of Chris Hemsworth, a rivalry he must endure, and the array of emotions that Randeep Hooda’s character enacts convey many hidden emotions. The action sequences in the movie keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. So that’s our list of top thriller movies on Netflix. I would love to hear your recommendations.
